Giulia & Chris' country chic wedding at the Roth Bar and Grill in Somerset was one that we were super excited to capture! Having visited an Alexander Calder exhibition at the Hauser & Wirth gallery a year previously (as well as one of the most spectacular roast dinners imaginable!) we both agreed that this would be our perfect wedding venue to shoot one day.
The Hauser & Wirth site provides the most wonderfully heady mix of cuisine, art and architecture. With Giulia's Italian heritage and Chris' architectural training, it was hardly surprising that they chose this amazing venue. The gallery sits amidst the rolling Somerset hills a short walk outside Bruton. This most quintessential of English villages belies a refreshingly quirky vibe being home to such gems as Godminster Cheese and At the Chapel.
Giulia got ready on site at Hauser and Wirth in the stunning Grade II listed Durslade Farm house. With it's eclectically curated interiors and Bakelite fittings, it was pure granny chic on steroids. As the hour approached Giulia emerged looking the absolute picture of elegance in her Charlie Brear Dress perfectly complemented by her Jimmy Choos and custom made Ruby Jack earrings (Note to Pete, I've put both of these on my Christmas list...you have been warned..!)
The ceremony itself took place a short drive away at the Rook Lane Farm Chapel in Frome before moving on to the Roth Bar and Grill. Having grown up a few miles from Bruton we felt right at home in this west country wedding and as the sun dipped low over the gallery with the guests soaking up the relaxed vibes and insanely great food, it was just a picture of happiness!
We can't wait to go back to shoot another wedding at Hauser and Wirth, thank you Giulia & Chris for planning such an incredible day, we had such a fun time and the roast pork will certainly live long in the memory! Here's a few of our favourite moments....
